Dr. Kaplan Dau

Owner / Veterinarian

Brynie Kaplan Dau is a small animal and exotics veterinarian. She grew up in Pacific Grove and is happy to be back in her hometown, serving the community that she loves. Dr. Dau holds a Master’s degree from Moss Landing Marine Labs and California State University, Monterey Bay in marine science (invertebrate zoology and chemical oceanography) and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine (zoological medicine track). She has spent extensive time working with sea turtles in Greece and the Cayman Islands, marine fishes and invertebrates, and our own California wild seals and sea lions as well. But she has never strayed from her childhood love of cats and dogs. She now works with exotic pets in addition to cats and dogs. Her main interests include feline medicine, soft tissue surgery, dermatology, behavior, dentistry, and ultrasound. In her spare time, she is busy with her 10 year-old twins Myles and Poppy and her own menagerie – a pug named Pearl, three cats named Elijah, Saga, and Forrest, a guinea pig named Sprinkles, and two leopard geckos called Coral and Cloud.

Dr. Kaplan Dau strives to be part of a team with you to do what’s best for your beloved pet. She will always offer the highest quality of care while working with you to manage your pet’s health as well as possible. She takes pride in having excellent communication with you to find the best possible treatment plan for you and your pet. Dr. Kaplan Dau also collaborates regularly with specialists in cardiology, surgery, internal medicine, and ophthalmology to ensure the best care for your pet.

I’d like to express my gratitude to all the amazing clients who have welcomed me to Pacific Grove Animal Hospital! The amount of kindness you all have shown has been endearing. Thank you so much for your support!

Our Staff

Kathy

Hospital Manager

About Kathy

Kathy was born and raised on the Monterey Peninsula. She has been working in the veterinary field for 8 years. She is passionate about all animals, but especially has a love of large breed dogs. She has a very handsome 6 year-old Rescue Pitty, Jaxton AKA Jax a 90-pound “lap” dog (or so he thinks so), 10 year old Rescue Chi-Weenie, Roxy. Kathy loves camping, boating, and traveling (as long as it’s in the sun.) She is devoted to caring for companion animals. Her ultimate goal is to have a facility dedicated to catering to bully breeds. “Bully” breeds are unfortunately so discriminated against, and they are the most loving breeds, as with all beings, it’s all in how one is taught.

She enrolled in Central Coast College and obtained her Veterinary Assistant Certificate. Outside of the hospital, she has a dog named Walter.

Lily

Lily

Kennel Assistant

About Lily
I have been living in Monterey for 20+ years and have devoted my time to taking care of the elderly, children, and pets. I have now transitioned to focus solely on pets (furry and non-furry). Joining this veterinarian team has allowed me to fulfill that desire. Outside of this hospital, I love to travel and look forward to eventually visiting my four-legged nieces and nephew (Coco, Jacques, and Antoinette) in Italy. Miau!
